A clients’ verbal concerns could be:
• They don’t know how to breathe without making sounds
• They don’t know how to link breath, thought & image with their voice
• They don’t like the sound of their voice
• They don’t know how to make impact with their voice
• They have a lack of vocabulary
• They don’t know what is the best language to use
A clients’ non- verbal concerns could be:
• They have tension on their face and in their body
• They don’t know how to stand or sit
• They don’t know what to do with their hands and their body
• There is tension in their body
• They have constant distracting habits
• They don’t know how to make impact with their face and body
A clients’ on-camera concerns and questions often are:
• How will I look on camera?
• Where do I look when in front of the camera?
• Will I be too big? Too soft or too loud?
• What are the most important shots?
• How do I make impact in the frame?
• How can I come across very well?
Everyone is different, but, in evidently, all the concerns from this list above, as well as the clients verbal and non-verbal concerns from the lists above, usually all surface when a client is in front of the cameras.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Education in Drama, Literature and Language Linguistics from Rusden – Deakin University, 1991. An international teacher and coach of adults, university students and teenagers.
Paul Parker has been teaching and coaching since 1990 and has taught in the USA, ongoing since 2002. Paul has taught ongoing in Japan since 2013 and taught at two Universities in China in 2010. Paul has taught in Australia, on and off since 1990. Paul has also taught students online from South Korea & England.
Paul has taught corporate clients, including professional sports players, since 2003. Firstly, in the USA, then in Australia and Japan.
Paul has served as a Judge/Adjudicator of acting for four years, alongside prominent Los Angeles Casting Directors, Agents & Managers in the USA; as well as a Judge at a theatre Festival in Victoria, Australia.
Successful acting students from Paul’s coaching have gone on to work in the USA, England, Australia, Japan, South Korea and China.
